Pain Education and Management is proud to announce a significant expansion of our education options for our award-winning community-based pain management program, giving clients more flexibility, choice, and access to life-changing care.

Our face-to-face group workshops have long delivered structured, evidence-based education to people living with chronic pain. Delivered in six 3-hour sessions over 12 weeks, these workshops combine expert-led clinical content with professionally facilitated peer support and a strong focus on active self-management. It’s an approach that works — and one that has earned national recognition.
However, we understand that group workshops don’t suit everyone. Distance, scheduling conflicts, and personal preference can all present barriers to participation. That’s why we’re excited to launch our brand new Individual Program — offering the same proven content, delivered one-on-one via Microsoft Teams.
“Now, clients don’t have to wait for a group to form,” says Director Dean Minchington.“They can start when they’re ready and meet privately on Teams with a clinician who specialises in that session’s topic — whether it’s the theory of pain, medication, psychological resilience, physical activity, sleep, or nutrition.”
Clients begin each module by watching a short, pre-recorded presentation from the clinician they will meet with, covering the same content they would receive in the group workshop. They then attend a 30-minute one-on-one Teams consultation with that clinician, where the key messages are reinforced, questions are answered, and individual needs are addressed.

Of course, all learning comes with access to our comprehensive program materials, which can be conveniently accessed via the Pain Education and Management app or website.
This flexible, client-led format is especially beneficial for rural and remote clients, shift workers, or anyone needing a more personalised and accessible learning experience. It also forms part of our broader effort to improve accessibility through multiple delivery options:
The Original Group Program – In-person workshops for up to 16 participants, offering community and connection.
The Hybrid Program – Live online workshops via Teams, combining pre-recorded presentations with group interaction.
The Individual Program – Personalised care through one-on-one Teams sessions, scheduled at the client’s convenience.
“We’ve always been proud of our education model,” Dean adds.“Now we’re proud to say it’s more accessible than ever — wherever you are.”
