Better pain support starts with better understanding

Living with persistent pain can be confusing. People often receive conflicting advice, spend months searching for answers and struggle to know what to do next.

Pain Pal was created to change that.

Pain Pal is a free pain education and support ecosystem designed to help Australians living with persistent pain better understand their condition, build confidence and access the right support at the right time.

Whether you're newly living with persistent pain or have been managing it for years, Pain Pal provides trusted, evidence-informed resources that you can access whenever you need them.

Best of all, no referral is required.

What is Pain Pal?

Pain Pal brings together education, technology and professional support into one easy-to-access platform.

Rather than replacing your GP or healthcare team, Pain Pal is designed to complement the care you're already receiving by helping you better understand persistent pain and become a more confident partner in your own healthcare.

You can use as much—or as little—of Pain Pal as you need.

How Pain Pal Can Help

Explore our growing library of evidence-informed articles covering topics such as understanding pain, medications, sleep, movement, nutrition, mental wellbeing, work, daily activities and finding the right support.

Every article has been written specifically for Australian consumers using plain language to make complex pain science easier to understand.

Prefer listening instead of reading?

Every article includes an audio version, making it easier to learn while travelling, walking or relaxing at home.

Our AI-powered Pain Pal Assistant has been trained using our own pain education library. It can answer questions, explain concepts in plain language and help you find information that's relevant to your situation—any time of the day or night.

Sometimes information alone isn't enough.

Pain coaching provides personalised support to help you apply what you're learning, overcome barriers, stay motivated and build practical self-management skills that fit your everyday life.

If you need more specialised advice, you can book consultations with experienced clinicians who have expertise in persistent pain management. These consultations are designed to complement—not replace—the care provided by your regular healthcare team.

Not sure where to start?

Book a free 15-minute Navigation Call and we'll help you better understand your options and identify the most appropriate next steps.

Who is Pain Pal For?

Pain Pal is suitable for:

  • people living with persistent pain

  • family members and carers wanting to better understand pain

  • people waiting to see a specialist or pain service

  • people looking for trusted, evidence-informed information

  • anyone wanting additional support alongside their existing healthcare providers.

What Does It Cost?

Most of Pain Pal is completely free.

You can access our education library, audio resources, AI assistant and Navigation Call without charge.

For people wanting more personalised support, paid pain coaching and clinician consultations are also available.

This means you only pay for the support you choose to use.

Working Alongside Your Healthcare Team

Pain Pal is designed to work alongside your existing healthcare providers—not replace them.

Your GP and treating clinicians remain central to your care. Pain Pal simply provides additional education, guidance and support between appointments, helping you make informed decisions and get more from the care you're already receiving.
