Module Learning outcomes
By the end of this module, participants should be able to:
LO3.1 Explain the relationship between persistent pain and sleep, and recognise how each can influence the other.
LO3.2 Recognise the principles of good sleep hygiene and identify practical strategies to improve sleep quality.
LO3.3 Understand how improving sleep supports pain management, emotional well-being, daily function, and recovery.
LO3.4 Describe how relaxation techniques regulate the nervous system and support better sleep and pain management.
LO3.5 Recognise the benefits of diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation and autogenic techniques, and identify which approach may best suit their needs.
LO3.6 Understand how meaningful activity, therapeutic recreation, creativity and social connection contribute to living well with persistent pain.
LO3.7 Develop a personalised plan to improve sleep, relaxation or therapeutic recreation as part of their ongoing self-management journey.
